Avatar faces plagiarism claims

The breakthrough movie Avatar and its director James Cameron is now facing plagiarism claims.

Russian moviegoers are claiming that the Avatar movie is closely similar to a series of science fiction novels called "The World of Noon" or "Noon Universe" written by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky in mid-90s.

The similarities? The Russians are claiming the books also happen in a planet called "Pandora". The books also called the planet-dwellers Nave, similar to Avatar's Na'vi.

Both also happened in the 22nd century.

Arkady has died in 1991. His brother Boris is not suing James Cameron for plagiarism.

What do you think? Is this really a copied work of art?
